Losing natural teeth is normal for kids as their new ones grow in quickly. However, when an adult loses one, it can cause them to have an awkward, gap-toothed smile and a loss of proper health and function. It doesn’t have to be that way!
With dental implants from Zarrella Dentistry, you can close the gaps, restore your smile, and recreate a natural, healthy look that you will love. Advances in cosmetic and comprehensive dentistry allow all of us to recover fully from an unfortunate loss of teeth or from a gapped smile. A dental implant will bridge any spaces between teeth, restoring you to a natural, healthy look you'll love.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants act as artificial tooth roots that support the placement of new artificial teeth. Implant placements have become part of mainstream dental care. They can greatly improve your ability to chew, speak, and smile with confidence. Dental implants are permanently attached to your mouth and do not need to be removed like conventional full or partial dentures. They look and feel like natural teeth and do not require any special care—just brush and floss as usual.
How Do Dental Implants Work?
Dental implants are put in place during a minor surgical procedure. They are made of titanium, which is placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. Over a healing period of about 3–5 months, the new metal root fuses with the jawbone and becomes a permanent part of the mouth. Once healed, an artificial tooth (or teeth) is attached to the implant, and then the patient can resume eating and speaking normally.
